DIVORCE CONSULTATION

If you are considering hiring a Florida divorce lawyer, a divorce consultation is usually your first step. Chaykin Law Group offers a consultation by phone, video conference, or in-person. You may schedule your consultation online here,  by calling us at (561) 515-5655, or via email at welcome@ChaykinLaw.com.

During Your Consultation

The time is yours to spend however you wish to spend it. What does that mean? If you want to discuss specific issues for an hour, we are happy to oblige. If not, we typically:

  • Analyze Your Situation

We usually perform an initial analysis. During that initial analysis, we will consider everything from jurisdiction to your personal concerns. If you are initiating the divorce, we consider if a divorce petition should be filed, when a divorce petition should be filed, and where a divorce petition should be filed. We will advise you as to the next steps. If you’re responding to a divorce petition that has already been filed, then we will review the petition and advise you as to the next steps.

During our analysis, we will inform you of the strengths and weaknesses of your case. (Yes, there are weaknesses in your case; we will always be honest about such weaknesses.)

  • Honesty

At Chaykin Law Group, we believe that the attorney-client relationship is a sacred relationship. In any relationship, honesty is key. We are brutally honest. Yes, really. Unlike some other attorneys, we do not tell you want you want to hear to get your money.

If you do not need an attorney to fix your problem, we will tell you, and we will give you tips on how to handle it yourself.

If we do not think you will “prevail” (e.g., meet the goals that you have set), we will let you know immediately.  We have a great deal of referrals due to our past successes, and we only accept cases that fit into our firm’s philosophy and caseload. We often turn down more cases than we accept, so rest assured that if we accept your case, it is because we believe in you and your case.

  • Attorney-Client Confidentiality and Conflicts

The consultation always remains confidential, even if you do not retain us. In addition, if your spouse or opposing party contacts us at any time in the future, they will be informed that we cannot provide any services to them.

  • Attorney’s Fees and Costs

Every case is unique, and as a result, attorney’s fees can vary greatly from case to case. We are not able to give you an estimate of costs until we sit down with you, review your paperwork, and listen to your story.
