Kathleen Housden, FRP ACP, is an Advanced Certified Paralegal and Florida Registered Paralegal at Chaykin Law Group, P.A.
Since joining the firm in January of 2019, Kathleen has worked alongside our team from the early stages of a family law matter through settlement or trial. Kathleen plays an important role in helping our clients stay informed, organized, and prepared throughout the legal process. She assists with case preparation, document management, discovery, financial information, correspondence, and the many details that arise as a divorce or family law matter moves forward. Her experience allows her to anticipate what attorneys and clients will need at each stage of a case while helping ensure attorney strategy is implemented.
Kathleen earned the Advanced Certified Paralegal (ACP®) credential in Family Law through NALA, the Paralegal Association. The ACP® designation is available to qualifying Certified Paralegals who complete advanced study and assessment in a specific area of law. NALA's advanced family law curriculum addresses subjects directly relevant to divorce and family law practice, including dissolution case management, division of property and spousal support, child custody and support issues, case documentation, legal research, and client communication. Kathleen's advanced certification complements the practical experience she has gained assisting Chaykin Law Group clients through divorce and family law matters from intake through settlement or trial.
As a Florida Registered Paralegal, Kathleen has satisfied the education, training, and professional experience requirements established by The Florida Bar. Florida Registered Paralegals work under the direction and supervision of Florida attorneys and perform substantive legal work delegated by those attorneys.
Kathleen brings with her a wealth of knowledge and experience. Kathleen attended Hartwick College in Oneonta, New York, where she earned her Bachelor's Degree in Liberal Arts with distinction. After graduation, Kathleen moved to South Florida and pursued a career as a paralegal, completing the paralegal program at Palm Beach State College.
Prior to joining Chaykin Law Group, P.A., Kathleen gained experience as a paralegal handling corporate filings and contract matters. That experience strengthened her attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage complex documentation, all of which serve her well in divorce and family law matters. Those skills translated naturally to family law matters, particularly cases involving substantial financial documentation, business interests, and complicated discovery. For clients facing the complexities of divorce or another family law matter, Kathleen provides detail-oriented support throughout the process.
